As you would have noticed - that's of course, if you read it… In my last blog I talked about my all time favorite place to eat - Cafe Gratitude and I mentioned the awesome smoothie I had there.
Thought today I'd give you the recipe for it.... and before you ask - I did write to the cafe and did ask permission which they kindly gave me.
O.k. so here it is and it is from their book "I am Grateful: Recipes and Lifestyle of Cafe Gratitude." which, by the way, I read often and drool over the wonderful foods - and have tried some of the recipes (mainly the desserts) which always get rave reviews.
"I Am Grace" - Coconut Almond Smoothie
(makes 16 ounces)
8 ounces coconut milk
3 Tablespoons + 1 teaspoon chopped dates
3 Tablespoons + 1 teaspoon raw almond butter
½ teaspoon vanilla
A tiny pinch of salt.
Place all ingredients in your blender and fill to 2 cups with ice. Blend until smooth.
Absolutely easy and tastes divine!
ENJOY.
p.s. I really want to mention that on their menu is:
"I AM GRATEFUL ~ DONATION BOWL
Our community supported grain bowl. Shredded kate, with quinoa, black beans, and tahini-garlic sauce. We created this bowl to allow for those in financial need to have access to organic vegan food. Payment is by donation. No one is turned away. Suggested value is $7. Feed yourself and some in need for $14.00 or more."
How awesome is that!!!!!

It sure was nice of Cafe Gratitude to share the recipe - if ever you're in their vicinity they're worth visiting... just check out their website for locations.
ReplyDeleteDelicious. By my calculations, using lite organic coconut milk, about 600 calories. So, it might definitely count as a meal.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea....thanks.
